Pure, an exciting collection by Patrick Cameron. The mood of Patrick
Cameron’s new collection is one of timeless composure and restrained
elegance. Pure is a beautiful collection evoking a great sense of occasion but still
retaining an essential element of fun. With a hint of bridal, a nod to the
formal debutante ball and a shameless flirtation with cocktail vogue, the
collection is utterly feminine and of lasting glamour.
The gowns are flattering, sculpted silhouettes that are achieved by folding,
pleating and twisting of layers of white fabric, enveloping the body in
an exquisite fashion. There is a fleeting reference to mid 20th-century
silver-screen style icons and formal high-society portraiture, but Pure is
essentially a modern collection and celebrates a delightful special moment
through today’s aesthetic sensibilities.
The hair is glamorous and worked with classic techniques but the finish
and volumes are contemporary. Multi-strand braiding gives a wonderful
woven texture to large chignons, and loosely twisted wide sections of
hair lift gracefully from the contour of the head to create a romantic interpretation of the urban mohawk. Soft curls are ingeniously placed to
simulate a stylised bob or gently braided to achieve a luxurious sculpture
at the back.
Small asymmetric chignons are created from inverted pleats or from
entwined decorative strands that gracefully follow the shape of the head.
This dazzling ensemble of styles, together with the elegant couture, makes “Pure” a collection of cinematic quality that is guaranteed to be a real
crowd-pleaser. All the techniques are demonstrated step by step with
Patrick’s trademark unique craftsmanship, showing the real artistry of
dressing long hair.
